The following works are inspired by Bourke-White's childhood love of nature and her enduring fascination with historical industrial architecture.

Frame 4 (second photo, second column, edited form directly above) was the best frame because it combined two inspirations: the patterns Bourke-White used to express cubism in her work and her love of herpetology as a child. In addition, this frame best withstood colorization in terms of preserving the color and tone balance.

Technical: cubist patterns

Conceptual: childhood love of herpetology and nature, represented by a park.

Frame 7, (fourth row, second column, featured in its edited form to the left) best fit Bourke-White's works in the field of industrial photography. Her photography typically featured buildings of historical significance. She framed the buildings with an air of importance and power and at times captured cubism. Her interest in industrial photography stretched back to her childhood, when she eagerly visited her father's plant to see how everything worked.
